"Die Königliche Pomologische Kommission, 'La Commission royale de Pomologie', die vorwiegend aus A. Royer, A. Bivort und L. de Bavay bestand, hat die grossartigste und umfangreichste pomologische Gemeinschaftsarbeit Belgiens veröffentlicht: 'Annales de Pomologie Belge et étrangère' ... in acht Bänden mit 384 schönen Tafeln, die jede einzelne Obstsorte in natürlicher Grösse und Farbe mit Blättern und Zweig darstellen. In der Einleitung zum ersten Band befindet sich eine beachtenswerte Abhandlung von A. Bivort über die 'Théorie Van Mons'" (Martini p. 132).
